Tell Me A Lie (~私にウソをついて~ ~Watashi ni Uso wo Tsuite?) is a Japanese one-shot manga by Gosho Aoyama about the fictional heroine Terumi Arai (新井輝海 Arai Terumi?), who has the ability to read a person's thoughts when she is looking into their eyes or nose.
The story is concluded in a mere six pages, one of which being a full-page, cover-like drawing, and many fans have expressed differing opinions on its length: while the plot is complete in much the same sense as a piece of flash-fiction, it has several elements of an introductory piece; combined with the interest it raised in the mangaka's fans and the comedic potential of the whole concept, it has made quite a few people express the opinion that it is a shame that this is not a new series, while others say that Aoyama should probably expand the storyline as one.
It is interesting to note that the protagonist does not show the usual stereotypes for a character of her abilities: while she does find her power to be "troublesome," she deems it neither a gift nor a curse and is acting neither like a heroine nor like a victim only on grounds of her possessing it. Rid of angst and the classical themes of conflict, self-doubt, and low self-esteem, it does away with the moral dilemmas and rhetoric commonly imposed on the reader.
Of further note is the fact Terumi has some, mostly aesthetic, aspects of a meganekko.
