Tehachapi Pass (elevation 3,793 feet (1,156 m)) is a mountain pass in southern California in the United States.
It is located at the northeast end of the Tehachapi Mountains where they connect to the southern end of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The pass effectively marks the southern end of the Sierra. The pass connects the San Joaquin Valley to the Mojave Desert. It is crossed by State Route 58. The railroad feature known as Tehachapi Loop is located approximately 18 miles (29 km) west of the pass.
Tehachapi Pass is not the highest point on SR 58 and the rail line; this is at Tehachapi Summit, just east of downtown Tehachapi.
The Tehachapi Mountains are also crossed by Tejon Pass at the southern end.
The area around its east and south is also home to the Tehachapi Pass Wind Farm, one of California's larger wind farms.
