Technical fabrics are high-performance fabrics designed and marketed mainly for sportwear and sporting goods.
They are usually all-synthetic, or have synthetic components as part of a composite design. Some are multi-layer bonded fabrics (eg. Goretex), some are textiles treated with synthetic substances (eg. Silnylon, Smartwool), and some are made from a single synthetic substance.
