David Martinez Jr. was born (January 22nd, 1983) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Nicknamed in the professional prize fighting ring as "Finito" or "The Finisher" David had a great amateur background, compiling a total of 102 fights, and only 10 defeats against some of the nations best. Martinez is still active and has won two minor titles in the professional ranks.

Unlike most champions today, a young Martinez tasted defeat in his first amateur fight, giving him the option to quit, or get the hunger to train harder and not want to witness that feeling again. This attitude led to winning a total of four (4) national amateur titles, and finishing the amateur ranks, ranked #1 in the bantamweight (119) pound division.
