Ana Free (born Ana G Ferreira June 29, 1987, in Lisbon, Portugal), is a singer-songwriter most known for posting her songs on You Tube, beginning in early 2007. As of April 2008, Ana amassed over 5,800,000 total video views and over 20,000 subscribers, placing her within the Top 40 Most Subscribed Musician`s of all time.

Ana was born in Lisbon, but grew up in a small town in the suburbs, Cascais, as the second child of an English mother and a Portuguese father. She has a brother who is three years older than her.
Ana attended an international school for 15 years, where she played several sports including volleyball, football(soccer), and track and field. Ana also participated in a variety of school theater productions and songwriting competitions, which helped further her passion for music and creative expression. Ana never took formal singing lessons, but learned basic techniques while singing in school plays.
Currently, Ana Free studies Economics at the University of Kent in the United Kingdom, where she continues to play volleyball at the varsity level. Ana focuses on her studies and music and is writing a dissertation on the economic theory of the firm and how it relates to the evolution of the major record label.

Around the age of nine, Ana's father taught her how to play basic chords on her brother's guitar. From then on, Ana started to make music, composing her first complete songs by age eleven. She has now written over 300 songs. With the help of her father and friends at school, Ana began to master the guitar. She owns seven guitars, one of which is a sunburst Gibson J-200 Emmy Lou Harris, which she received as a gift for her 20th birthday.
During high school Ana was a member of a band called Audacity with fellow You Tube sensation and singer Miaarose.
On January 7th of 2007, Ana Free posted her first song-video on You Tube and was quickly recognized thereafter. Within a short time she became one of the most subscribed musicians of all time. Ana's popularity lead to various media appearances, particularly in Portugal, including television appearances with TVI Portugal and SIC Portugal and various live radio performances, such as on Radio Clube Português and Antena 3.
