My name is Jake. I am a novice taxidermist, a wannabe lepidopterist, and a hope-to-be airline pilot. I have a wide variety of hobbies and little things I do here and there.

My current goal for the Lep-project is to complete the most common secies among the Macroglossinae, Smerinthinae, and Sphinginae sub-families of Sphingidae and see that each one ranks at least a Start-class ranking.
I have a new-found hobby, which is raising moths. I prefer to raise wild-caught caterpillars to pupae, but I have ordered Imperial moth eggs through the mail, which died four days after hatching. I'll stick to wild-caught for the time-being. I one day plan to start spreading my wild-caught moths and make a collection, consisting of mostly Sphingidae, while I plan to release my purchased moths and/or use females to call wild males for collection. As of this moment(August 14th, 2007) the following have pupated:
