Taxicabs of Malaysia are not as popular as private cars, because of the low costs of local cars like the Proton Wira and Saga.

Different colored taxis are owned by different companies. Most taxis are Proton Saga Iswaraks,Proton Wiras,Proton Wira hatchbacks and Proton Wajas.

Although most taxis run on diesel, a handful of taxis owned by MyTaxi run on CNG.
