[edit] bulleting

When we use bulleted lists in the sections, the list shows up bulleted properly for the first section, but subsequent sections are bulleted at the same level of the items on the first list. See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums. This is not helpful. -Freekee 03:53, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

I second this, the template is broken. Please see [1] -- intgr 04:16, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
I tried to fix it, and when I realised how to fix it, I didn't do it, because I realised they want this thing to look like Wikipedia:Community Portal/Opentask. So the answer is, don't use bullets.

There is absolutely no way that kind of format could ever work with template:todo. Article-specific tasks simply cannot be compressed into one or two words — it often takes a sentence or few, and it's useful to list potential sources as well. -- intgr 16:34, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Absolutely - There is no readable & straightforward way to handle multiple expand/npov/etc requests in a single line. If there is a simple fix, please implement it or share the details. MrZaiustalk 14:56, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
Btw, it also glitches with #s. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Dust_Bowl/to_do&oldid=134825331 - Surely it's related, but just thought I'd point it out. MrZaiustalk 15:11, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Explaination and Examples

While this template is automatically added to a new to do list thhere is nothing here that explains how to use it or gives examples of template with some data in it in use. All the examples of to do lists I have looked at do not use this template. Please exaplain it's use and why it is included in to do list template. - Waza 21:57, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

I think it gets used in Template:Todo at least. --Jvv62 16:10, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image parameter

I've added a #switch parameter, image=off, which allows you to remove the image from the left side of the template. This seems preferable for times when the template is used in a small formfactor, such as with {{todo|small=yes}}. Otherwise, the image takes up considerable real estate. Template will work with or without "image" specified, or even with "image=on" given. My testing reveals no problems, but if any are discovered, do please fix or revert. It won't hurt my feelings :) -- Huntster T@C 01:49, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Add a "Split" category as well

Suggest a split section be added as well, as merges can be discussed on a talk page/task list, so can splits.

tasks

 |requests=
 |copyedit=
 |wikify=
 |merge=
 |split=
 |verify=
 |cleanup=
 |expand=
 |disambiguation=
 |stubs=
 |update=
 |npov=
 |infobox=
 |other=

{{editprotected}}

This seems reasonable. Would an admin please insert the following after the merge lines?
-->{{#if:{{{split<includeonly>|</includeonly>}}}|<li>'''[[Wikipedia:SPLIT|Split]]:'''
{{{split}}}</li>}}<!--

[edit] Add categorize task

Categorizing is a pretty major, albeit usually transparent, task for projects. I could probably spend hours just catting and verifying cats. Heck, there is even a project dedicated to that task, Wikipedia:WikiProject Categories. I think it would be useful to add a categorize parameter to the todo template. [edit] Further explanation needed

The list of parameters seems complete, but further explanation is needed. For example, should "Cleanup" contain the name of a Category, a comma-separated list of articles, or point to a page which has a list of articles which need to be cleaned up? -- SEWilco (talk) 18:51, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
