Taste of the Danforth

Taste of the Danforth is a yearly festival held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, in the Greektown area along Danforth Avenue for a period of three days in August, spawned from the Taste of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Started in 1994, it primarily celebrates Greek food and culture, but has grown to encompass additional area cultures. Past attendance numbers have reached as high as a million people over the three day event.
The 13th annual festival took place August 11th-13th, 2006, between Broadview Avenue and Jones Avenue.

Greek food, such as pork, chicken and beef kabobs, souvlaki, pita, and roast quail, dominate. Other foods, particularly Thai and corn on the cob are also available. Existing stores and restaurants are also open during the festival.
Along the middle of the avenue games and children's rides, as well as rock climbing walls and beer and wine gardens can be found.
