Talk:Tamp
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This discussion of tamping is coffee-specific, although the word has a larger definition. I believe this should be folded into a discussion of coffee equipment, and the word should be moved to wiktionary.
- I agree. I came to the page looking for information on gravel tampers for laying beds for paving stones. Kjl 21:57, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Also agree. Tamp can mean to compress anything in a fashion similar to that described here for espresso. Perhaps "Tamp (coffee)" or "(espresso)". Or just fold it. Jodine Sparks 13:02, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
I agree. One can tamp a cigarette, for example. It's the only word that describes that packing action.
I de-coffeed the article. Sorry for removing the coffee specific information, but that should probably be put into a coffee-preparation or the espresso page. Kjl 15:29, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
