[edit] My Wikipedia Habits
[edit] Patrolling
When I get bored, I often go on vandal patrol, generally reviewing only articles by anonymous users. For first time "offenses" I normally give warnings as follows:
- Level 1: Inserting unoffensive nonsense, removing a section without commenting why, etc.
- Level 2: Inserting mildly offensive comments, removing obviously pertinent sections, blanking pages, etc.
- Level 3: Inserting profane or extremely offensive comments.
I normally look at most edits in which more than 100 bytes were removed. I also scan for any edits to articles involving politics, religion, sexuality, etc., since these topics seem to suffer the most vandalism. I've also seen a pattern of articles pertaining to a high school being vandalized. I personally don't think most high schools (and especially middle schools) ought to have Wikipedia articles. The only exceptions should be particularly notorious high schools (such as Columbine High School) or especially historical schools.
I'm a big fan of the template {{Welcome-anon-vandal}}.
[edit] Article Revision
I typically enjoy reading and editing articles relating to religion, politics, and linguistics. Occasionally I also work on articles related to Kentucky. I also occasionally participate in AfD discussions.
