Talty

Talty is a surname found in County Clare, Ireland. . An Anglicized form of Gaelic Ó Tailtigh ‘descendant of Tailteach’, Other derivations are Tully, Tally, MacTully, MacAtilla, Flood and possibly Floyd. The Ó Tailtigh family were physicians to the O'Connors, Kings of Connacht and also to the O'Reillys of Breffny in County Cavan. The Taltys are descended from an Ó Tailtigh who settled in Clare after the first Plantation of Ulster around 1620.
