[edit] History
Tales Of Acid Ice Cream has been done in two times : the keyboard sequences first, then in studio for the real instruments and voices. Most of the songs had a previous version on demo tapes, that had been completely re-recorded for the album.
[edit] Controversy
- The booklet says Awaken is a quintet with two guests, but the main group doesn't play together in any of the tracks. The guitarist appears on two songs only, while the bassist on a single one. Every musician has played on previous demo tapes though, except guest Philippe Tasquin.
- The word acid of the title doesn't refer to drug but to citric acid, and used as a metaphor to depict the melancholic mood of the lyrics.
[edit] Trivia
- Thanks to the cover of Al Stewart's "Last Days Of The Century", Gilles Snowcat was invited to jam with Stewart in 1999. See site : Al Stewart and Awaken pics.
- The two guest musicians, Vincent Trouble and Philippe Tasquin, existed as a duo on the Belgian scene in the early 90's : Tasquin Contre Trouble. Ironically, the don't appear together on any song of Tales Of Acid Ice Cream.
