It is a kind of craft made in Talavera de la Reina, Spain. It has been discovered rests of Talavera pottery since the Roman Empire. In recent investigations, lots of dishes, jars and other kind of objects has been extracted from the underground. Arabs brought to the city new technichs and ovens. In this time ceramics were abstracted motives according to the religion prescriptions. In the XV century Jan Floris brought new styles from Holland. He founded a factory and all his pupils started the world famous tradition of the city.
Ceramics of Talavera have been used to make fountains like in Cuba or Brazil, tiles for buildings like in New Orleans, Tokio or Paris. Its presence in Royal Palaces and Museum all over the world has been a remark of its quality.
