Takes Over Nick is a weekday block that aired on Nickelodeon during the evening. For one week, a Nickelodeon star would host the block, where they would pick their favourite episodes of shows, talk to their co-stars, and answer viewer e-mails.

[edit] Hosts

The first host was Jamie Lynn Spears, who hosted for a week of Fall, 2006. Next was Emma Roberts, who hosted several weeks later, and talked to her co-stars of Unfabulous about their upcoming season. Next to host was Drake Bell in December 2006. He was the only star to host from Time Square in New York, rather than hosting from the set of his television show, as Emma and Jamie Lynn had. They had an orange couch and viewers had a lot of fun with it.

[edit] Dares

For each episode of a show the host picked to watch, they also would pick a viewer sent dare, such as balancing books on their head, or balancing a spoon on their nose. Either the host or their co-star would do the dare. At a certain point in the episode (For example, every time Spongebob started singing in the Jellyfish Jam episode), the person would have to perform the dare, showing the audience on a small screen below the episode.

[edit] Big Orange Couch

This block marked the return of Nick's big orange couch, which was originally used during Nickelodeon's Snick block from 1992-1999. The couch was retired in June, 1999, when the couch was stuffed with $25,000 and given away in a contest celebrating Nickelodeon's 20th anniversary.
