From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Takadagawa stable (Japanese: 高田川部屋, Takadagawa-beya) is a stable of sumo wrestlers. It was formed in 1974 and was originally in the Takasago group of stables, but it was excommunicated from the group in 1998 and is currently the only non-aligned stable. As of July 2007 had 23 wrestlers, making it one of the largest stables in sumo. It is one of only five stables without any foreign wrestlers, the others being Irumagawa stable, Isenoumi stable, Takanohana stable and Nakamura stable.
