[edit] Tafhim ul Quran - تفہيم القرآن:

A translation and explanation of Quran in a very simplified language for the common man.

The translation is done be Maulana Maududi first in Urdu, but now available in several languages of the world.

Started on 1942. Completed on 1972.

Derived from the Urdu word 'Feham' meaning to conceive.


[edit] Volumes:

It is divided in 6 volumes.


[edit] Main Features:

  • Main features are the simple language.
  • Preface of each Sura (Chapter) provides summary including:
- Explanation of Name of Surah
- Era in which it is revealed.
- The background in which it is revealed.
- The Subject of Surah
- Topics covered in the Surah
- The importance of Surah
