[edit] Old Discussion

I do not see Tachihara's name or any of his aliases or the stories that allegedly won on the Akutagawa Prize official list at the website of the magazine that gives it out (http://www.bunshun.co.jp/award/akutagawa/list1.htm)

Also corroborating the fact that he did not win is that Lee Hoesung was the first Korean winner of the prize in 1972, and the second Korean winner did not come until 1988 (Lee Yangji), by which time Tachihara was already deceased. I believe the confusion is arising because he was only nominated for the prize, but did not actually receive it; see Wilson, Michiko (April 1986).
