[edit] Improvements needed

I happened across this article and believe that the topic is very important, given today's state of local television news. However, the article is not comprehensive enough and hence I would suggest the following to further improve this article:

  • A basic history of tabloid television
  • More information about its format
  • Relationship to a station's need for ratings.

Also, I suspect that this phenomenon is not restricted to the U.S. Information concerning tabloid television in other countries should also be included. Pentawing 19:05, 16 July 2005 (UTC)

Definitely. There are quite a few 'tabloid television' type formats in Australia for one, such as A Current Affair and Today Tonight. Is there a category for these programs? Tim 00:23, 23 October 2005 (UTC)
