what was the club established for? was it a war program or a college effort?

Neither, it was a club established at King Edward's School, Birmingham. It was basically for scholorly students seeking intelligent discussion and other productions on their topics of interest. It had a core group of the 4 people mentioned. Perhaps when I am done writing my 10pp Tolkien essay I will expand this page.
