T. Wingate Andrews High School

T Wingate Andrews High School was opened in 1970, and has served the High Point Community continously under the High Point City Schools system and later Guilford County School System. It took students from the former William Penn High School and some from the still opened High Point Central High.

Andrews has seen its student body transform from upper middle class to a lower socio-economic / inner city student population. As a result the school and its teachers have faced greater challenges than in years past. Despite these challenges and the existence of problems that plague all inner-city schools, T.W. Andrews and its staff still provide its students with the opportunity to obtain an excellent education. The school currently offers students the opportunity to take classes in medical careers, construction and automotive technology along with Computer engineering in addition to its traditional academic offerings. Next year it will proudly add one of the first aviation academys to be offered in a North Carolina High School.

Andrew's Mascot is the Red Raider. The current administration consists of Principal Monique Wallace and her assistant principals and their designees. The school is once again moving to become the pride of High Point, NC.
