Description

Mike Maciag, a civilian plane caption with L3 Communications, directs the first U.S. Navy T-2C Buckeye trainer jet to return to Sherman Field on board Naval Air Station Pensacola, Fla. The aircraft based at Sherman Field were evacuated in preparation of Hurricane Katrina. A Category 4 hurricane, Katrina came ashore at approximately 7:10 a.m. EST near the Louisiana bayou town of Buras.
