[edit] Tony Blackplait

Note that this is the same person as Tony Blackplait, whose article did not survive a vote for deletion. Personally I voted to keep that article, in lieu of related articles about an apparent hoax band named after The Flowers of Romance (band). Ironically, if this cited all the same sources as the previous incarnation of the article, it would have been a speedy deletion candidate (i.e. re-submitting essentially the same article that did not survive AfD). -- Gyrofrog (talk) 23:19, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

P.S. The article is categorized under Category:Anarchists. In all of the previous articles related to this person, and in spite of requests to do so, no one has ever explained why or how he is a notable anarchist in the way that, for example, Mikhail Bakunin or Bob Black are notable anarchists (as opposed to, say, Johnny Rotten the anarchist). --

[edit] Anarchist

I am quite sure that Trubetsky is the most known anarchist in Estonia (I am not Estonian myself so it is hard to substantiate this claim), so his appearance under category "anarchists" is as justified as appearance of several other musicians there. "In English" does not necessarily have to mean "anglo-centric". -- 21:25, 7 February 2006 (Moscow Time)
I'm not sure what you mean by your last sentence (at least, I don't understand how it applies to this subject). -- Gyrofrog (talk) 19:43, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Discography, Filmography, and Bibliography

User:ZZZZ pasted in the discography, filmography, and bibliography similar to those in the deleted versions of this article. As the discography is pertinent to Vennaskond (and largely duplicated in that article) I've removed it from this one. I used a deleted version's "Books" section that included actual ISBN numbers (a listing of Trubetsky's books is available here, apparently an Estonian library catalog). I would like to direct interested parties to comments by User:Andres at the previous version's Articles for Deletion page; I believe his information outweighed all other considerations and sufficiently established the subject's notability (at least in Estonia). (This is irrespective of the various prank articles, disinformation, etc. that Trubetsky and/or his associates have posted at Wikipedia.) -- Gyrofrog (talk) 22:09, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

Having said all that I'm not sure Trubetsky qualifies as "film director," as those listed in the Filmography are apparently Vennaskond's music videos. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 22:13, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Page move

User:Munn moved the "Tõnu Trubetsky" to "Tony Blackplait" on 31 Dec. 2005, stating that the subject is more well-known under the latter name. Seeing how this article has failed previous votes for deletion based, in part, on lack of notability, I'm not sure that either name is well-established. But since most of the subject's works are under the former name, I propose that the article be moved back to its previous title. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 04:05, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

I have gone ahead and reversed the page move; "Tony Blackplait" now redirects to "Tõnu Trubetsky". -- Gyrofrog (talk) 03:13, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Complete rewrite

Following edits on Feb. 17 2006 ([1], [2]), the article needs a complete rewrite. Some of the details of the subjects life seem rather mundane (e.g., "Trubetsky began working as an electrician for the signaling board"). Also there are too many links (including red links), e.g. the reader probably won't learn much more about Trubetsky by clicking on 1991 or chord, not to mention very ambiguous links like scene or multiplier. The list of external links is too long; some of these seem to be mirrors of Wikipedia and/or each other. Finally the article needs to clarify that Trubetsky's band "The Flowers of Romance" is not the same as The Flowers of Romance (band) as has been claimed previously in Wikipedia and elsewhere. If I was up to the task myself I would have just gone ahead and done it without tagging the article; perhaps when I have more time. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 18:44, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

I have made a complete rewrite, based upon my previous comments. All but one of the external links were mirrors of either the English or German Wikipedia. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 23:04, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
