Sadly, yes, simply mentioning that Armagh was the northern and Cashel the southern.Lozleader 09:12, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

I was in the local library this morning, and found four books on Irish history of the period that mentioned the synod, and they all contained the same information: 2 provinces, 12 dioceses each, Waterford and Dublin not included because they were Viking dioceses, already subject to Rome via Canterbury. But no definition of the 2 provinces. It's obviously obscure, and an arrangement that only lasted about 40 years. A possible source is The Church in medieval Ireland by John Watt (1972) is quoted as a reference in two places, but it's not in my library. Lozleader 13:16, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
