Part of the problem is that some of the meanings of "synchronization" are so different that it does not make sense to handle all in one article. "Synchronous communication" redirects to here. That makes no sense. My suggestion is that the only meanings that should be treated here are those covering the (one-shot or continual) act of establishing or maintaining a common clock or clock rate for several processes. Other meanings should be referred to, either by a referral preceding the lead paragraph, or by a "See also". LambiamTalk 08:43, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
