Symmetric Scale
Chromatic Scale, Whole-tone Scale and Octatonic scale are classified as Symmetric Scale. The latter is a scale composed of repeating subunits within an octave. This property allows these scales to be transposed to another notes, yet retain exactly the same notes as the original scale.
