Syed Naveed Asghar Shamsi (born April, 1960 ) is an Ayatollah ( Mujtahid ) from Pakistan who got Ijaz-e-Ijtehad from Hoza Ilmiyah Qum, Iran.

[edit] Childhood & Education
Syed Naveed Asghar Shamsi was born on April 1960 in Village Mandhar in district Jhelum, Pakistan. His father Maulana Syed Asghar Ali (deceased) was also a religious scholar and very well known personality in Shia community in Pakistan. After passing his High School in 1976 from Bhera, he got admission in Madrasah Jamiaa Muhammadia, Sargodha, in 1977 where some of his prominent teachers were Allama Sheikh Manzoor Hussain Najfi, Maulana Ghulam Mahdi (deceased), Maulana Syed Ijaz Hussain Kazmi, Maulana Nazar Hussain Zafar, Maulana Munawar Hussain (Deceased) and Maulana Ghulam Shabir Najfi. He got basic religious and Arabic education there and passed his Sultan ul Afazal.[citation needed]

In 1979, he moved to Qum, Iran for further religious education at Hawza Elmiya Qum. He stayed in Howza Elmiya Qum for almost 14 years (from 1979 to 1994), during his studies he attended lectures (Daroos) of Aqae Shammai, Aqai Fakhar Wajdani, Aqae Syed Mohammad Koh kamri, Aqai Aalimi, Aqai Sherazi, Aqai Hassan Zadah Aamili, Aqae Iatemadi, Aqae Alivi, Aqae Satudah, Aqae Salehi Ma Zandarani, Aqae Dosti, Aqae Misbahi, Ayatollah Maarifat, Ayatollah Khaz Ali, and Ayatollah Nasir Makarim Sherzai.[citation needed]
[edit] Dars-e-Kharij Usool & Fiqh
For the completion and to finalize his studies in Dars-e-Kharij Usool & Fiqh he attended lectures (dars) of Ayatollah Syed Mohammad Reza Gulpaigani, Ayatollah Syed Shahab-u-Din Najfi Marashi, Ayatollah Mirza Javad Tabrizi, Ayatollah Waheed Khurasani, Ayatollah Nasir Makarim Sherazi, Ayatollah Syed Mohammad Rohani, and Ayatollah Syed Mohammad Ali Alvi Gurgani.[citation needed]
Ayatollah Syed Mohammad Reza Gulpaigani and Ayatollah Syed Mahmood Deh Surkhi awarded him Ijaza-e-Riwayat in 1992 and Ayatollah Syed Mohammad Ali Alvi Gurgani awarded him Ijaza-e-Ijtehad in 1993.

He wrote note (Khulasah) comprising lectures (daroos) of Ayatollah Syed Mohammad Ali Alvi Gurgani on Liaali-ul-Usool.[citation needed]
[edit] Current activities in Pakistan
On request of Qazilbash Trust in Lahore he returned back to Pakistan in 1994 , he is The Principal of Muzaffar-ul-Madaras Madrasah-tul-Waizeen, Lahore since 1994 and teaching Uloom-e-Aal-e-Muhammad up to Dars-e-Kharij. He is also Imam of Jamia Masjid Sahib-u-Zaman, Lahore, since 1998.[citation needed]
