The 'Sydney Observer Magazine', previously known as the 'Ku-ring-gai Observer', is a community magazine distributed principally around the municipality of Ku-ring-gai in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The magazine contains various sections related to property & finance, health, travel, fashion & beauty, dining, music & theatre, arts & entertainment, puzzles and a diary of local events.
It contains news related to local items of interest as well as covering some topics of broader interest to people within the greater Sydney metropolitan area. Sometimes articles have been submitted to the Australian Senate for further discussion [1]
It is distributed free of charge to households, retail stores, libraries and community centres throughout the Ku-Ring-Gai Council area. Recent issues (October 2007) have been around 68 pages.
The election issue (November 2007) created a lot of discussion in the community and we received a huge positive response for the cover. The Christmas (December 2007) issue is very topical and informative about the safety of our children on the world wide web.
Our strong cover for March 2008 issue-the Apology issue-has generated some very passionate responses from readers.
Read about The Enduring Legacy in our April 2008 Observer.
Previous editors have included Arti Kumria, Michaela Bilik, Guy Weress and Mani Veiszadeh.
