This is a typical utility pole found all over Sydney, NSW, Australia. Basically all residental areas of the city built prior to about 1980 are serviced by these wooden utility poles. Attached to the pole is an old fluorescent street light which were once found all over Sydney, however, these lights are currently being phased out and replaced by modern energy efficient lights which are fixed to the utility poles in their place. Date taken: 25 May 2008.
