[edit] Merge

Should this page not be merged with the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swiss_International_Air_Lines_destinations page? Seems pointless keeping them seperate.82.26.43.105 09:21, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Merge

The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the debate was no consensus to merge, defaulting to leave as is --Arnzy (talkcontribs) 00:48, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

  • Oppose - There's no need to merge in Swiss European. It's a regional subsidiary, like Comair for Delta or American Eagle for American. Dbinder (talk) 02:18, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
  • Ultra Strong Support It is a subsidiary fully owned by Swiss. It uses Swiss aircraft. It does not have a seperate CEO. It has a different ICAO code but it has the same IATA code. Unlike American Eagle at least one of the ICAO and IATA codes is equivalent to that of Swiss International Airlines. It has the same aircraft livery like Swiss. It does not even have a seperate website and not even an own section on Swiss's website. The luggage tags are the same. On the "fleet" section on the Swiss website all the planes are listed as part of Swiss. Swiss European airlines isn't even mentioned once as operating the Jumbolino's.(Avro RJ 85 or 100). The routes that SIAL flies are almost the same as those of SEAL. User:wwicki

[1])-"fleet" section on Swiss website.

  • Oppose - Regional subsidiary, it should have its own page like any of the other "express" carriers. —Cliffb 07:08, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Codeshare list

The codeshare listing is quite a mouthful - is there any easy way to lean that up, or should it even be included in the present form? Any ideas? Jkstark 03:42, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Headquarters?

I have a question, though I'm not sure whether it's worth addressing in the article. The Infobox mentions that the airline's headquarters are in Basel. Isn't this in a big office building at Basel/EuroAirport? If so, then aren't the headquarters technically in France? -- Gyrofrog (talk) 06:43, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

The headquarters are not at the airport of Basel. I think they are in a building in the city. Wwicki 14:04, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

The Building is at Basel Airport. It is territorially in france, but I believe that there is an agreement regulating the issue... I'll check that when I'm home... if it's needed.

Legally, the headquarters are in the City of Basel. I would have to check the shab.ch website to give you exact fact of that.... but now i'm ill... i'll leave that to another volounteer... ha.

[edit] Fleetsize

Fleet size: 31 (7 on order)

Shouldn't that be 73 or am I missing somethings? Even If you didn't count Swiss European it would still be 49! --80.218.149.71 20:12, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Do you think it should be mentioned the SR technics Switzerland GMB should be mentioned as their main contractor? I currently work at a major vendor to EADS, BOEING, PW and many airlines. One of their planes were recently damaged i dont know what happened but i sent out a large amount of fuselage skin "T4 alclad panels" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.109.127.19 (talk) 02:30, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Swiss logo.png

Image:Swiss logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
