Swiffer is a line of cleaning products by Procter & Gamble. Names of Swiffer products include Swiffer WetJet and Swiffer dusters.
The brand uses the popular razor-and-blades business model, whereby the consumer purchases the handle assembly at a low price and must continue to purchase replacement refills and pads over the life of the product. The Swiffer WetJet detergent bottle, for example, is designed so it is impossible to open it and refill it with generic or homemade cleaner.[citation needed]
[edit] Environmental concerns
Large quantities of Swiffer pads end up in waste landfills[citation needed].
