GOP "stronghold"?

re: this statement in this article: The city is increasingly a Republican stronghold in Texas. This really ought to be sourced (and preferably from a source other than the local GOP party's literature). Texas isn't quite as much of a "red state" as its reputation would have you believe (I say this as a lifelong Texas resident).

Citation is NOT required on wikilinked items, and common sense should tell casual user that Sweetwater schools serve Sweetwater. Citation is also not needed for non controversial items. Removed tags demanding citation. Jacksinterweb (talk) 02:51, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
