Talk:Sweep the Leg
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There should be no notability question on this video. It was written and directed by William Zabka, who played Johnny in the The Karate Kid and was a reunion of sorts for many of the actors from the movie. As such, it has drawn a great deal of attention from fans of the film and is a very highly watched video on Youtube. The only question about notability would arise from the performance of the group No More Kings in mainstream radio. Brian Waterman, MS, CDP (talk) 18:45, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
- Great. Now go read Wikipedia:Notability (music), and share which of the notability guidelines are demonstrated by the song or video. Or just justify it by the "Songs" section of that guideline, namely:
- "Most songs do not merit an article and should redirect to another relevant article, such as for a prominent album or for the artist who wrote or prominently performed the song. Songs that have been ranked on national or significant music charts, that have won significant awards or honors or that have been performed independently by several notable artists, bands or groups are probably notable. A separate article is only appropriate when there is enough verifiable material to warrant a reasonably detailed article; articles unlikely ever to grow beyond stubs should be merged to articles about an artist or album."
- And, the question here is, is how can the song be justified as notable? Please note, I'm not saying that it is, or is not, notable. Just that because semi-famous people appear in the video, or that it had popularity with a subset of fans, doesn't automatically confer it notability or automatically make it notable. 98.215.48.213 (talk) 04:20, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] in the video when did Martin Kove show up?
???
He was featured briefly in the very beginning (shooting the cobra while on a motorcycle). His first interpersonal scene was in the kitchen after the milk has been cleaned off Zabka's face. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.173.201.37 (talk) 16:16, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
