[edit] Writing system

The marks above and below the note are fairly obsolete nowadays. Discussion of how the notation is made by capital and lowercase letters ought to be expanded. Calaf 20:25, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Incorrect information

Several details mentioned in this article are not applicable or incorrect considering Carnatic classical music. For example, it is mentioned that each Swara may designate up to two different pitches. But in Carnatic Classical Music, each swara may designate up to three different pitches. The terms komal, tivar are not used in Carnatic Classical Music. Instead, the different pitches are distinguished with the prefixes Suddha, Chatushruthi, Shatshruthi, Sadharana, Antara, etc. - Jayarama Nettar 14:51, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
