Swamis (surfing)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Swamis is a surfing spot located in Encinitas, California. Swamis is named after the Self-Realization Fellowship, built for Swami Paramahansa Yogananda in 1937, which overlooks this reef point. Swamis is a major destination during good swells in the winter months for regional surfers due to its standout right point break, fun reef breaks, and beach breaks. Due to excellent surfing, the crowd can be extremely large with good conditions. Surfing at this location is ideal with a low to mid tide, W or NW swell direction, and calm or E wind.
