[edit] KEGS: my school
King Edward VI Grammar School, or KEGS, is a British grammar school located in the town of Chelmsford, roughly in the middle of the county of Essex. It takes pupils from the ages of 11 (Year 7, formerly the First Year) to 18 (Year 13, formerly the Upper Sixth). From Year 7 to year 11 it is a boys-only school, although it becomes mixed in the sixth form (Year 12 and Year 13). The present headmaster is Dr. Mike Walker, who succeeded Mr. Tuckwell in 1999, having previously taught history at the school as senior deputy headmaster. The current deputy headmasters are Mr. Bevan and Mr. Newman.
[edit] My objective
"I hope to improve the article by adding more information in a better and clearer format. Unfortunately, some people just want to shorten the article.
[edit] The inverse objective
- An old boy - Stefan Fruczek to be precise - doesn't like detail about KEGS. This is his view
- "Personally I think that now there is so (too) much information there, it needs to be edited by someone totally unconnected to the school and with experience in other Wikipedia school articles. If other schools (particularly better ones!) do not feature these rambling "criticisms of..." sections, then this article shouldn't either. I should also like to note that it is only once you have spent a few years away from your school can you really appreciate that, although it may have essentially been your life over those seven years, it is not really that important to others. As distinguished as the KEGS traditions may be, it is still only one of hundreds of similar grammar/independent schools. A huge number of schools have debating societies (the FDL, however, is indeed unique as the OFSTED report remarked), musical activities, a house system, and so on. The main fault of the school is that, at times, it takes itself far too seriously and this article is a prime example of this!"

[edit] My criticisms of this inverse objective
- This is an encyclopedia and should contain as much information as possible. Book encyclopedias are restricted only by space, but this is the internet.
- Wikipedia is neutral so I feel it is wrong for Stefan to attempt to stamp out criticism. Other schools do not feature the rambling criticisms maybe because they don't have so many Wikipedians or that they are less questioning. Questioning the system is a good thing!!! I found the two criticisms of the prefect election system very interesting, but he removed it.
- He takes pleasure in destroying other people's hard work. My table is in no way irrelevant! It is just more detailed. The information about KEGSmusic was patchy and unclear. I just made it clearer.
However, for fear of my identity being discovered, I will not argue. But Stefan can't remove my hard work here! Below is my detailed and clear table about KEGSmusic. Enjoy!" --Svm2 14:05, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] For More information
"Why don't you see the KEGS talk page, where the old boys argue about whether it is good to include detail and criticism?" --Svm2 09:44, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RCM: my music college
"I go there on Saturdays as a Junior Department student. There is less debate about the future of this article. In my opinion, it needs more information, particularly concerning the "Senior Department". A few months ago (before I had a user on Wikipedia) I added lots of subsections about the JD major ensembles. I might turn that into a table, like with the KEGSmusic ensembles." --Svm2 09:44, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Confliciting geolocations within Étaples
As far as I can tell, the two coordinates are about 0.6km from one another: see this route map. Since they are both in middle of the same town, either coordinate would seem acceptable to me: my bot's coordinate appears to point to a traffic circle in the central area of the town, and the French Wikipedia article's coordinates to somewhere a bit further out of town, across the railroad tracks. Perhaps a resident would know which one is "more correct" than the other -- for example, perhaps one is the mairie? Please choose whichever of the two you like. -- The Anome 14:06, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
