Gayle Benjamin Pickwell (March 25, 1899– May 29, 1949 was a U.S. naturalist at San Jose State Teacher's College. He came to San Jose, California shortly after being granted a Ph.D. in zoology at Cornell University in 1927. Pickwell was president of the Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society and also a frequent leader on field trips.
