Sutherland Shire flag, drawn by Yu Ninjie. The flag was designed in 1929 by C. R. Wylie.

The globe, and two pole stars are based on the Coat of Arms of James Cook, who was the first European to discover Sutherland Shire in 1770. The background is St. George's Cross.
