Sushi Pack is a children's Saturday morning cartoon that is aired on CBS' Kewlopolis animated cartoon block. It features a team of wasabi, salmon egg sushi, crab sushi, tuna sushi, and octopus sushi as they use their wits and their emotions to save the world and educate young children. The Sushi Pack team lives in a Japanese restaurant with humans. Despite the superhero element of the story, violence is used only as a last resort. The closing theme song of the show is a techno/rap/funk hybrid song. Quests involve learning about the meaning of friendship, social skills, and teamwork. The show is produced by American Greetings and Tom Ruegger.

[edit] Sushi Pack Members

Ikura: Named after salmon egg sushi. He is very headstrong and charges in when it comes to helping his friends. He has the power to shoot sticky fish eggs. He's also terrified of bears.

Kani: An easily angered girl named after crab sushi. Her pigtails are tough crab claws, which she uses to give her foes a powerful pinch.

Maguro Maki: The calm, peaceful member of the group named after tuna sushi. She's in touch with her inner tuna, and enjoys meditation and Feng Shui. She can float, and has almost psychic powers. Maguro is voiced by Tara Strong.

Tako: The unofficial leader. Named after octopus sushi, he certainly looks the part. He has six long tentacle arms, and an eye patch. He would rather use his powers of shooting multi-colored ink to be a world renowned painter than to fight evil, and gets insulted when his paintings are called bad (which they are.) He is voiced by D.J Rick Adams.

Wasabi: The smallest, cutest, and speechless character of the Sushi Pack. A spicy ball of hot mustard, he can only communicate with squeally noises, and has the power to fly and shoot fireballs at foes. He is very sensitive, and gets upset easily.

Titanium Chef: Where there is bad sushi, there's a bad sushi chef. He's one mean catfish who not only orders the Legion of Low Tide to fight dirty and scheme evil plots, he also manages the sushi bar they live in.

Toro: A very fat tuna who isn't very smart. He's strong but gullible and usually just follows along.

Unagi: This mutated electric eel packs a ton of voltage. He's slimy savage with an eye for detail.

Mochi Mochiato: A frozen ball of rice coated ice cream who freezes her enemies in their tracks. She is candy coated, but cold as ice. She one time befriended Maguro and later Kani.

Fugu: A blowfish who can puff himself up to many times his original size. He's dead set on doing no good and has an eye with video functions.

Uni: An unstoppable sea urchin with a talent for scheming evil plots. He is one of the Sushi Packs biggest threats because he is seemingly unstoppable. He has the ability to morph.

  • Sophia Tucker: A female reporter for Wharf City News. She always reports the news whenever the Sushi Pack is needed or when they finally save the day.
  • Ben: He is a close friend of the Sushi pack and manages the donut shop where they live. He always gives them advice or suggestions.
  • Mayor Hack Martin - The mayor of Wharf City.
  • Jenny Flume - The chief of police. She usually has something she'd rather be doing.

Wassup Wasabi 11/03/2007 After a bit of teasing, Wasabi runs away -- right into the Legion of Low Tide. When Titanium Chef makes a copy of the glob of mustard, will the rest of the Pack be able to tell the difference?
No Clowning Around 11/10/2007 Sir Darkly returns to send a storm of sadness over the town, and the Pack must work together in order to stop him.
World's Tastiest Heroes 11/10/2007 The Pack must save the day when the Superheroes from their favorite reality TV show are captured by an invading alien.
Poached Salmon 11/17/2007 Ikura is so headstrong that he winds up getting stuck while on a mission and his friends must save him from becoming a meal for White Oleander.
Go With the Glow 11/17/2007 The Legion of Low Tide steal the city's power, causing the Sushi Pack to almost spoil. The Pack discover the Legion's plot in time and stop them cold.
Deep Freeze 11/24/2007 Maguro and Mochi Mochiato become friends, causing the Sushi Pack to accidentally challenge The Legion of Low Tide to a showdown. Kani steps in before things get out of hand when she realizes it is OK for them to be friends.
Satel-lightning 11/24/2007 An asteroid hits a TV satellite bringing it to Earth and turning it into a monster robot that "looks like a satellite and talks like a TV set." Maguro uses her psychic abilities to find out the satellite is just alone and afraid, and Tako sends him home.
Red Hot Chili Planet 12/01/2007 The Sushi Pack see a movie on global warming. As soon as they arrive home, Wasabi turns up the heat and Tako, Ikura, Maguro, and Kani get angry at Wasabi because they're perishable. Wasabi leaves and meets the Hot Squad, who like things to be hot, hot, hot! Can the Sushi Pack stop their plan for turning the whole world into an oven?
Sweet Tooth 12/01/2007 Wasabi develops a craving for a new candy created by a boy named Jimmy and gets overweight. Kani and Ikura train him to make him normal-sized again, while Tako and Maguro decide to give Jimmy a visit.
Taming the Gaming 12/08/2007 Tako becomes addicted to video games and neglects his training. Also, his lack of sleep jeopardizes the Pack's current mission.
Rex Marks the Spot 12/08/2007 Ben finds old comic book rings in his old belongings, but there are only four of them. Tako becomes jealous that he doesn't receive a "crown" of his own, and can't concentrate on missions. Maguro tells him to let others know his true feelings so they can help him with his problems.
When Will Ben be Zen? 12/15/2007 The Pack has to show Ben that he's a hero to them when a dubious health inspector threatens to shut down The Green Donut.
Wharf City on the Half-Shell 12/15/2007 How can the Pack save the city from a giant space clam?
Dough-Ray-Me 12/22/2007 Ikura leaves on a family upstream trip, leaving the rest of the Sushi Pack to defend themselves. Mutant cookies destroy Wharf City looking for something called the "White Treasure"(milk).
Sign of the Tuna 12/22/2007 Maguro nurses Toro back to health after an injury and the Sushi pack aren't so sure they can trust him being in their secret hideout.
The Yam Yakkers 12/29/2007 Sir Darkly, White Oleander, and Titanium Chef team up to create the Yam Yakkers, sentient sweet potato creatures. But Ikura and Wasabi are more interested in seeing the premiere of the new Aquabot-Boy movie than fighting crime.
Dungeon of the Crab 12/29/2007 In order to find a pearl stolen from the science museum, the pack splits up into two teams. When Wasabi gets lost, the Pack find themselves, and the pearl, in the titular dungeon.
Deep Sea Diver Dude 2/02/2008 At first, Tako gets depressed because he has no family, while the rest of the Pack keep in touch with their relatives regularly. But an oddly convenient invitation to a shindig run by his fellow octopi makes the rest of the Pack suspicious. Could it be a plot to unravel the Sushi Pack?!
Fish Tales 2/02/2008 Wasabi overhears Kani telling Ikura that she has to leave for a while because she's molting, but misunderstands and thinks she's leaving the Pack to go to Hollywood. He ends up spreading the story around, complicating their current mission of protecting a sacred beachball from the clutches of White Oleander.
The Thing That Wasn't There 2//09/2007 Maguro sees a monster that the rest of the Pack can't see, and Tako doubts her. Maguro tries to gain his trust by proving that the monster is really there.
Starring Ikura 2/09/2008 Ikura finds himself in a new television show when he thinks there's trouble in Wharf City. Will his stardom go to his head and take him away from something important- his friends?
Gives Peas a Chance 2/16/2008 Ben lets stress get the best of him and snaps at Wasabi, seriously jeopardizing the Pack's fight against evil frozen veggies.
Chemicals Made From Dirt 2/16/2008 Titanium Chef creates a shoeshine that makes anyone who uses it feel cold, even though they're not. This is all an evil plot to get rid of the Sushi Pack, of course.
So Says Who? 2/23/2008 After a mission goes awry, Tako and Maguro share their versions of just what happened. In the end, neither one had the whole story, and the rest of the Pack save both them and the day.
Darkness and Spice 2/23/2008 The Pack has trouble catching the shape-shifting Uni at an amusement park due to Wasabi's fear of the dark. Kani tries to help him face his fears, but just makes matters worse. Will Wasabi be able to face his fears? And just why does Uni want a stuffed animal army, anyway?
