The introduction to the article contains several accusations regarding the subject's personal habits without source citation (bribing of university officials, infidelity). The editors should provide citations or remove the accusations. In the meantime I have placed a POV-check tag on the article.

[edit] POV

On 05:57, 2 September 2006, an anonymous user placed a POV tag on the article. Please explain specifically why you think this article does not have a neutral point of view. Patiwat 00:16, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

That was me. See the comment above regarding the introduction to the article, which I placed at the same time as I placed the POV-check tag. (I added a sentence clarifying the connection to the POV-check tag; sorry it was unclear.) Basically some of the assertions in the introduction need to be backed up with references to conform to Wikipedia's "verifiability" and "no original research" policies (or removed if they can't be backed up). See also the "biography of living persons" tag at the beginning of this talk page regarding extra requirements that apply here - basically anything that could be construed as negative needs a reference. I removed the tag since the questionable statements were removed by another editor. Warren Dew 23:47, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Section on domestic opposition deleted?

Why was the section on domestic opposition to his campaign deleted? The section had tons of references, and the local opposition to Surakiart's campaign has often been noted in the international press. Patiwat 01:38, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

An anonymous user, 202.47.247.99 has again deleted the results of the straw poll and the section on domestic opposition. These sections have adequite references and are written in NPOV. I see no reason why they were deleted. 202.47.247.99, if you have any reason for deleting these sections, please discuss them here. Also, please take note of the Three-revert rule. Patiwat 19:34, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

After doing the same again and again, I now semiprotected the article. andy 12:00, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
