[edit] Response to your message

Although I am assuming you will not see this given your announcement of retiring from Wikipedia, I thought I would reply. You wouldn't be the first person to have done a large number of edits based upon an incorrect assumption, but it's not the end of the world. If it is an error, it can easily be undone with a 'bot. And I might also be incorrect. If you have an issue with a revert or an edit, you can always take it up at the Town Pump -- ask if actor and actress need to be wikilinked. At the moment a bot is undoing the wikilinks on thousands of articles that had individual years linked; don't think that hasn't upset a few people. If you really want to quit over the comments of one editor (at least I assume it's the comments of one editor - I did't see anyone else adding to my note before you blanked your talk page) that's your right, but one thing I've learned since going online in the fall of 2004 (and having done approximately 10000 edits since then) is you have to develop a thick skin. Just wait until an article you create and spend time on is deleted through AFD, or a photo you scanned gets deleted because you forgot to add an image tag, or your painstaking work on an article gets undone by someone who thinks the article can be best expressed in half the words. This is part of what Wikipedia is all about. Don't sweat the small stuff; it's all small stuff. 23skidoo 16:11, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Revert Vandalism

Hi, an anonymous user blanked this page, and I reverted it. Just thought I'd let you be aware. CanDo 17:36, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Leaving/poker project

I've just found your userpage as I've been thinking about setting up a poker WikiProject and Essexmutant said that you might be interested in joining in. Im sorry to see you've decided to leave, it really doesn't sound like anything too serious with the wikilinks. For what it's worth, I don't really agree with 23skidoo: I don't think it's a problem if words like actor are wikified. I hope you rejoin the project some time, if you do and you'd be interested in helping with the poker project, please leave me a message (or have a look for it - it'll almost definitely be at Wikipedia:WikiProject Poker.
