This statement is incorrect:

In some years prior to 1969, the SS was considered its own car model, even though it was based on a car already in production. For example, the 1968 SS396 was considered its own model, not a Chevelle.

The article SS396 is recommended for deletion.

[edit] Grille

The grille looks reminiscent of a 1970 Camaro. Would love to have this built as a new Chevelle.

[edit] True super sport or CLONES?

i feel that many of the readers and owners of classic cars are not aware of the knock off, when they buy or own a super sport car... how can they tell , and know when they have a true Super Sport, and when they get a clone.

what is there to look for in a true SS , and that Clones are just for looks.
