[edit] Trivia

The film uses sound effects from the Jurassic Park Films, most notably the roars and screeches from the Spinosaurus and Velociraptor. In the later part of the film when a person is attacked by the Supergator, the sound of the raptors attacking is heard, with no explanation for the sound of rustling bushes and a cow dying.

In one part of the film, it is mentioned that a genetics engineering company had tried to attempt cloning an extinct creature as well. This is a reference to the Sci-fi original movie Dinocroc. It is implied that the creatures from both films are the same species, but they could not be since one is an extinct Supergator and one is an extinct Supercroc. However, alligators and crocodiles are commonly confused, so they may be the same species after all.

Supergator does seem to be a in-concept only sequel to Dinocroc. For one, the Dinocroc and the Supergator look incredibly similar, despite the supergator walking around on all fours instead of the Dinocroc walking on its hind legs. During the opening credits, music from Dinocroc can be clearly heard.

Dinocroc does seem to have better special effects than Supergator.
