The Romanian Supercup (Romanian: Supercupa României) is a football competition, held annually between the winner of Romanian Liga I and winner of Cupa României, at the beginning of every next season. It is usually played at Lia Manoliu Stadium in Bucharest, except for years in which it is under renovation and the host is some other venue, also in Bucharest. The match isn't held for seasons in which the same team wins both Liga I and Cupa României.
The competition started off in 1994 and has had only 3 different winners so far. The most successful performers so far have been Steaua Bucureşti with 5 wins, followed by Rapid Bucureşti with 4 and Dinamo Bucureşti with 1.

[edit] Sponsorship
On July 22, 2005, FRF and Samsung Electronics signed a one-year sponsorship deal. The name of the competition was changed to Supercupa României Samsung for the 2005 and 2006 editions.[1]
On October 9, 2006, FRF and Ursus Breweries (part of the SABMiller group) signed a sponsorship agreement for the next three seasons. Ursus Breweries changed the name of the competition to Supercupa României Timişoreana, after the Timişoreana beer brand.[2][3]
