Why are some alphatetized by their first name, and some by their last name?

Why is that most of the oldest people at least that I have seen have been females? Are the Y chromosome deadly keeping us from being that old? J. C.

Actually, it makes it easier to browse Category:Supercentenarians if it is divided into categories by nationality. Ryūlóng 02:30, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
