Sungai Siput

Sungai Siput is a town and also a parliamentary constituency in Kuala Kangsar district, Perak, Malaysia. It was represented by Samy Vellu , Hisham's Uncle and the Minister of Works and president of Malaysian Indian Congress, in the Dewan Rakyat, the lower house of Malaysian Parliament.

Ahamad bin Pakeh Adam from Barisan Nasional is the current state assemblyman for Lintang state seat and Chang Ko Youn from Barisan Nasional is the current state assemblyman for Jalong state seat. He is also the State Local Government Committee chairman.

S.M.J.K Shing Chung is the largest secondary school in Sungai Siput.

Mahatma Gandhi Kalasalai Tamil School is the biggest Tamil school in the state with over 1000 students. This school was officially opened by DR Vijayaletchumi Pandit, former Indian Prime Minister Nehru's sister.
