Sunbury United Soccer Club are an Australian football (soccer) team based in Sunbury, Melbourne, Australia. As of 2007, they play in the Victorian State League 2.
The Sunbury United Soccer Club was formed in 1972 and played its first games in 1973.
The founding members were, amongst others, Bert Kelly, Ron Buckland and Les Smedley. Bert Kelly is still associated with the club and can be heard every Saturday morning at 10:00am on Sunbury's local radio station 3NRG.
During the Seventies and Eighties the club raised funds to build the changing rooms facilities at Langama Park, this was followed by the erecting of floodlights to enable evening matches.
On the Langama Park site in Mitchells Lane there is now a very modern clubroom.
In 1992 the Committee raised enough money to send an Under 16 Team on an international tour of New Zealand where they played six games in 10days. The 16 players representing SUNBURY UNITED were not disgraced winning 2 and drawing 2 of the 6 games. Two of the games were against the best representative players of the CIty of Auckland.
In 2004 2 Girls teams were introduced.
The team has only ever won one championship which was in 1980.
For the fifth time in their history, Sunbury United were promoted in 2006 after finishing runner-up to Werribee Soccer Club.
