Talk:Summit Avenue (band)

[edit] Necessary?

Is this page necessary? It seems like all the important things to say for Summit are on the St. Paul page. Add that the Governor lives on Summit and it goes all the way to the river, but that's it. Maybe include William Mitchell and St. Thomas. Is there a precedent for other cities having their roads featured (aside from Broadway, NY, et al.). If not than this should stay with Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Governor's mansion, James J. Hill, F.Scott Fitzgerald, Sinclair Lewis, August Wilson, Macalester, St. Thomas, William Mitchell. It is the dividing line for all north/south addresses in St. Paul.
Relative to St. Paul's size, Summit is a very notable, historic and vital. I've seen other such streets (Park Avenue, etc) with articles.
Not sure what the criteria for "notability" are, but they seem rather fungible.Mitchberg 16:12, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
I realize it's notable for the St. Paul area, I'm just not sure if it ranks on an internet/global scale. I guess the test would be to expand it...and then if no one complains, it must be okay. You can read up on notability here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability
My argument (or suggestion) is that it may only be notable enough for inclusion with the St. Paul article; like, if you wanted to write about Grand Ave. or Lexington or University, these probably wouldn't rate their own page. Summit may be above that, but even for housekeeping, it may fit better inside the St. Paul article. Just talking here...ka1iban 16:31, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
Replace one fairly notable article for a non-notable one. Noble! ~ UBeR 23:44, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Didn't this band change their name to Summit Ave. (as per their blog)?71.63.149.249 21:24, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
