Sulakshana de Mel is a post-graduate student at Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology at University of Oxford.

During her MPhil research at the Social and Political Sciences department at University of Cambridge, she looked at the role of motherhood in asserting political space during conflict situations. Currently she is researching on lullabies.
