Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Power Station is a major power station in the Klang Valley region of Peninsular Malaysia. This coal-powered power station is located in Kapar, Selangor. It was opened on March 1987.
Kapar Energy Ventures Sdn Bhd is a joint venture Company between Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and Malakoff Berhad with an equity holding of 60% TNB and 40% Malakoff Berhad. Kapar Energy Ventures Sdn Bhd (KEV) owns, operates and maintains SSAAPS since 9th July 2004, after successful acquisition of the power plant from TNB.
KEV SSAAPS have 4 Generating Facility and can produce 2420 MW
GF1 Consist of 2 units Boiler and Steam Turbine with 300 MW each (Using Gas and Liquid Fuel)
GF2 Consist of 2 units Boiler and Steam Turbine with 300 MW each (Using Gas, Liquid & Coal Fuel)
GF3 Consist of 2 units Boiler and Steam Turbine with 500 MW each (Using Gas, Liquid & Coal Fuel)
GF4 Consist of 2 units Gas Turbine with 110 MW each (Using Gas & Distillate Fuel )
The power station ash pond is a sanctuary for migratory birds stopping over en-route from Siberia to Australia.
